SOUTH BEND, IND.—Royal Adhesives and Sealants LLC announced that it has launched a new line of Gunther brand mirror mastic, Premier Plus. Developed specifically for the professional mirror installation market, this mirror mastic contains less than 10 grams per liter of VOCs compared to more than 500 grams per liter of VOCs in traditional solvent-based mirror mastics. With this ultra LVOC content, Premier Plus is the first mirror mastic for LEED compliant construction projects.
Established through the U.S. Green Building Council, the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program establishes strict guidelines for energy and environmental design. As part of the environmental focus, the VOC content for mastics and construction adhesives cannot exceed 70 grams per liter. The new Premier Plus is far under this threshold with a VOC level of less than 10 grams per liter.

Royal’s experienced research and development department works closely with the professional glass and mirror industry to develop new products that meet their needs for green strength, application times and physical properties. In addition, these formulations must be compatible with the manufacturer’s various mirror backings commonly used in this process.
