DES PLAINES, ILL.—Bedding manufacturer United Feather & Down recently made a difference for two Chicagoland homeless shelters, donating much-needed bedding, including pillows and comforters, as part of the United Relief Foundation’s (URF) Project Restoring Hope program. Project Restoring Hope is dedicated to easing the suffering of homeless individuals and families, especially veterans, in America.

United Feather & Down’s donation enabled URF to kick off the Project Restoring Hope program sooner than expected. Company co-president Stephen Palmer was on hand to deliver the comforters, which have been given to two Chicago area shelters: the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, Ill., and the Journeys from PADS to HOPE shelter in Palatine, Ill.

“We take pride in our local community and want to help those around us who are facing tough times,” said Stephen Palmer, United Feather & Down co-president. “The United Relief Foundation works tirelessly to assist homeless Americans, and we’re honored to help the organization carry out its mission of delivering hope and help in the Chicago suburbs and beyond.”

The United Relief Foundation is a Mount Prospect, Ill.-based nonprofit organization founded in 2006 to provide a lifeline of hope and help to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Since then the organization has expanded its humanitarian efforts. For more information, visit www.unitedrelieffoundation.org.
