NILES, ILL.—The Mitchell Group, a major converter of coated fabrics to upholstery markets around the world, introduces Bouclé, the latest addition to its Ez-Kleen collection. The new pattern brings the rich, dimensional character of traditional bouclé weave to a high-performance vinyl surface, delivering warmth, texture, and visual depth without sacrificing the durability and cleanability that commercial environments demand.
Bouclé features a sophisticated surface texture inspired by the irregular, loop-like formations that define classic bouclé fabric. The pattern’s organic variation creates a layered, dimensional appearance that evokes the richness of traditional woven textiles, while a refined coating subtly streamlines the finish for modern commercial interiors. The result is a material that feels design-forward with an appealing hand, without the maintenance challenges of natural fiber upholstery.
As part of the Ez-Kleen family, Bouclé is made from environmentally friendly vinyl and features the collection’s proprietary stain-resistant protective finish. The pattern is phthalate-free, contains no chemical flame retardants or anti-microbial additives, and is fully REACH and RoHS compliant. Its non-porous surface resists staining and supports straightforward cleaning, including compatibility with Clorox Healthcare and Clorox Pro products for commercial disinfection.
Well-Suited for Healthcare, Hospitality
Bouclé is engineered to perform in high-traffic settings. The pattern meets or exceeds ACT performance standards, with 100,000 double rubs of Wyzenbeek abrasion resistance, 200 hours of colorfastness to light, and strong grab tensile and seam strength ratings. It passes California TB 117-2013, NFPA 260, and UFAC Class I flammability requirements, making it well-suited for healthcare, hospitality, and other commercial applications.
Bouclé is offered in 18 colorways spanning a full spectrum from warm neutrals and earth tones to jewel-toned accents and muted greens and blues. The palette supports a wide range of design contexts, from understated interiors to more expressive spaces.
“Bouclé reflects exactly what Ez-Kleen is designed to do: take a pattern that designers love and make it viable for the spaces where people actually live and work,” said Bill Fisch, President of The Mitchell Group. “The bouclé aesthetic has real staying power in commercial design right now, and we wanted to give specifiers a version they can trust to perform in a color palette broad enough to work across virtually any project.”
Bouclé is available now through The Mitchell Group. For more information, samples, and technical documentation, visit mitchellfauxleathers.com.
