FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA.—Valley Forge Fabrics has received the 2012 Marriott International Supplier Sustainability Leadership Award. Marriott made the announcement at their International Global Discipline Conference. Marriott’s “Supplier Sustainability Award” is designed to annually recognize one of Marriott International’s suppliers who have made the greatest impact on their guests and properties through innovative ideas that help Marriott meet their sustainability goals. This year two suppliers were honored with Marriott’s prestigious award; Ecolab also took home this recognition.

Valley Forge Fabrics is the largest producer of decorative fabrics for the lodging industry. Over the past several years, the company has been honored with multiple community, state, industry and national awards for innovation and green practices. Headquartered in South Florida, Valley Forge has sales and sourcing offices in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa to serve hotel customers worldwide.

“We are thrilled to recognize Valley Forge as a sustainability leader,” says Bradley Colton, operations leader of Marriott International. “Valley Forge has proven themselves time and time again with the largest collection of environmentally friendly products and continues to raise the bar in hospitality.”

Valley Forge was selected by Marriott by supplying award winning collections which include upholsteries and draperies made with 100 percent post consumer recycled polyester, from plastic bottles, as well as linens made from Eucalyptus fiber. In addition, all Valley Forge associates receive education and training so they understand the company’s philosophy relating to sustainability and the company’s FRESH (Fabrics Re-defining Environmental Standards for Hospitality) initiatives.

“We define sustainability as the way we interact with people within our organization and the community, the impact we have on the environment and the impact that our efforts have on our bottom line,” said Diana Dobin, president of Valley Forge. “We believe that by taking care of our people and the planet, we will be able to take care of our company. Being recognized by Marriott as a leader in sustainability is extremely meaningful to us.”
