INCLINE VILLAGE, NEV.—Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, the only full-service waterfront resort in North Lake Tahoe, has received Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR Facility Accreditation. The resort has also been recognized as Hyatt Corporate’s 2020 “Hotel Team of the Year” in North America.

The GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation recognizes organizations that showcase a commitment to transforming the cleaning industry into an essential part of their business, and those that ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for employees, customers, and stakeholders. The accreditation illustrates the resort’s priority and commitment to infectious disease prevention and to minimize risks associated with infectious agents like COVID-19.

Hyatt Corporate’s 2020 “Hotel Team of the Year” in North America recognizes the hotel team that excelled in adapting resort procedures and overcoming the challenges faced due to the global pandemic.

Excited About Accreditation

“We are thrilled to receive the accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council and to be named the 2020 ‘Hotel Team of the Year’ by Hyatt,” said Michael Murphy, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino. “Both recognitions are a testament to the hard work and dedication our team has put into ensuring the safety of our guests while helping the property to rebound from the pandemic. I am extremely proud of my colleagues who have worked endlessly to quickly adapt procedures, while also developing innovative and thoughtful ways to continue to provide an unforgettable Hyatt Lake Tahoe experience during these unprecedented times.”

The resort’s leadership committee developed a reorientation program with extensive colleague training in new safety procedures. The property also added a trained hygiene and wellbeing leader to oversee policies related to cleaning procedures, sanitization, and social-distancing guidance.

Additionally, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe has introduced new and relevant guest experiences including a “BBQ Dinner Package” where guests staying in cottages could grill their own dinner, refreshed procedures for socially-distanced beach dining, room delivery options through its Tahoe To-Go program, and more. The resort also debuted Tahoe Adventures, a curated menu of socially-distanced outdoor experiences, from guided hikes on popular trails to painting classes and meditation sessions.
