THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.—John Glen DiGuiseppe, president/CEO of the United States’ first green third-party hospitality management company, Investors Hospitality Management, “IHM”, introduces a new dimension to third-party management: “stewardship with sustainability.” IHM’s portfolio reflects a spectrum from domestic mid/economy level hotels (Best Western, Choice, Wyndham and independent hotels) to international private luxury estates/villas/resorts owned/managed by the company.

“An individual ‘Green Plan’ is created, implemented and maintained for each client’s property,” DiGuiseppe explains. “Living and working green is a lifestyle and I believe we have a social responsibility to become greener everyday. By designating Ray Burger, founder and chairman of Pineapple Hospitality, Inc. and EcoRooms and EcoSuites as chief sustainability officer for IHM, we have paired IHM’s property management/ownership/representation services with a selection of certified sustainable vendors/product sourcing.”

As IHM continues to unfold principles of sustainability into its daily operations, careful fiscal management is an equally significant metric of IHM’s operations. DiGuiseppe’s own experience with investment informs his operational strategy for client representation.

“I feel there’s a need for checks and balances; I have a fiduciary duty to my clients,” DiGuiseppe says. “When IHM engages a client, the first thing I do is retain the services of a qualified local CPA to oversee the hotel’s fiscal profile on a continuing basis. This allows me to successfully micro manage the client’s property and provide accountability for the investment.”

“Sustainability issues dominate the consciousness of humanity today,” DiGuiseppe adds. “I am providing an interactive dialogue for continuous input at the global level via IHM’s website: www.investorshm.com. We all come to the table of sustainability with varied levels of expertise. The site will promote continued conversation and be supplemented by a monthly newsletter complementing daily news updates and features.”
