I receive a lot of e-mails each week. I honestly don’t mind hearing from you so keep the e-mails coming. It is much better than receiving snail mail correspondence. (Got to save those trees!) Over the past several months I have received a number of messages from readers wondering when Green Lodging News would be adding RSS feeds. “RSS?” I asked myself. What in the world is that? Just kidding with you.
For those of you who do not know, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. At the very top and bottom of the Green Lodging News home page, there are links leading to a page that describes RSS and that lists the 17 RSS feeds that Green Lodging News now offers. RSS users can subscribe from that page or from the bottom of each department top page—the list of links located at the left side of the Green Lodging News home page and every other page on the website.
RSS will enable you to receive direct feeds of any new news content that is added to Green Lodging News. It is the first of many additions I have planned for my site. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Upcoming Events
If you have plans to exhibit at or attend the HD 2007 Expo & Conference, please let me know. The event, scheduled for May 9 to 12 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, will feature numerous green events, including a luncheon featuring case studies of green projects underway at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, MGM Mirage CityCenter in Las Vegas, and Eagle Lodge Sky Resort in Mammoth, Calif. The event also will feature sessions on sustainable design.
I also plan to attend the National Restaurant Assn. Restaurant Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago. That event is from May 19 to 22 and will feature a Green Restaurant Products Pavilion and Organic & Natural Pavilion. Education sessions will focus on sustainability, green marketing, local and organic produce acquisition, energy conservation and other green topics.
