THORNTON, COLO.—EarthFriendlyEnergy.us (EFE), founded to create synergies between human and environmental need, announced that it has begun offering comprehensive energy efficient lighting solutions as well as free bulb recycling services. Based outside of Denver, CO, EFE services are available nationwide.

Lighting typically accounts for anywhere between 15 to 40 percent of energy use in a building. Replacing traditional bulbs with compact fluorescents (CFLs) can result in substantial financial savings, especially in the face of rising energy costs, and helps to protect the environment. CFLs are compatible with standard sockets but use 65 percent to 75 percent less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and last 5 to 10 times longer without sacrificing light quality. CFL bulb recycling, currently scarce and cost prohibitive, not only reduces landfill mass but is essential to prevent harmful mercury from being released into the environment.

“Simple, incremental changes in our behavior and the products we buy are core components of the green movement,” says Stephen Greenberg, founder and president of EarthFriendlyEnergy.us. “EarthFriendlyEnergy.us makes purchasing and recycling green lighting and saving money as easy as flipping a switch. Our mission is to provide a convenient, one-stop outlet for businesses and consumers to turn environmental concern into environmental action.”

EFE customizes a solution to meet individual business and consumer needs and investigates and negotiates federal, state, and local utility rebates. EFE offers a wide range of CFL bulbs. They are delivered in packaging that is reused for shipping used bulbs back to EFE. Certificates of recycling are posted on EFE’s website.
