SAN DIEGO—Cali Bamboo, a manufacturer of green building materials for residential and commercial projects made primarily from bamboo, launched its BamDeck Composite Bamboo Decking made from 100 percent recycled materials. With durability characteristics twice the density and strength of other decks, it’s the only decking product made from 30 percent recycled bamboo fibers and 70 percent recycled plastics.

In addition, BamDeck Composite is termite resistant, weather tested, LEED qualified and priced competitively to standard composite decking options. It’s available for purchase nationwide and comes with a 10-year commercial and 25-year residential warranty. The decking is offered in three colors, including caramel, coffee and slate.

Tests performed by a licensed third party in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) regulations and specifications found that BamDeck Composite was more than twice as hard, four times stronger, absorbed one-tenth as much water and scored lower on the flame and smoke tests compared to the competition. In addition, Cali Bamboo’s decking is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and is slip resistant.
