TAMPA, FLA.—Avtron LoadBank Inc. has introduced its new compact portable convective heater designed for the purpose of killing heat-sensitive insects, especially bed bugs. The ultra-efficient heater delivers up to 20 kW of forced-convection heat from a lightweight, easy-to-handle unit.

Heat remediation is now broadly recognized throughout the world as one of the cleanest, most effective ways to destroy bed bugs and similar insects. If performed correctly, heat remediation completely eliminates the problem by destroying not only adult insects but also insect eggs and larvae.

The challenge in this process is ensuring that every corner of the space being treated receives consistent, even heating. Efficient treatment requires that the heating unit be powerful, but safe and easy for the operator to handle.

The new Avtron LoadBank heater, aptly named the Bedbug Chaser, uses a compact forced convection heat transfer process that creates 360 degree coverage to ensure interior spaces are heated evenly and quickly. The Bedbug Chaser accelerates air flow on three axes simultaneously, forcing air circulation to every part of the space being treated for “supercharged heating.”

For ease of handling, The Bedbug Chaser incorporates lightweight aluminized steel construction and dolly style wheels. The heater is rated for continuous operation at more than double the BTU output of any other unit in its size range, and features fully rated quick-connect load terminals. The Bedbug Chaser weighs 71 lbs., making it light enough to be transported and deployed by a single technician.
