ORLANDO, FLA.—The Hilton Inn at Penn has installed Intelity ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) Touch on iPad in each one of its 238 guestrooms. This in-room guest feature, part of a $10 million renovation project designed to make this savvy, new hotel more eco-friendly, will allow guests to order up to 30 guest services from the convenience of an iPad. The benefit? The Hilton Inn at Penn provides guests with luxury service while reducing its printing costs by up to 90 percent.

During their stay, guests at The Hilton Inn at Penn will be able to use Intelity’s ICE Touch on iPad to order room service, make spa appointments, coordinate local transportation, and make restaurant reservations.

“Intelity’s ICE Touch on iPad will be a great instrument in helping us achieve our sustainability goals,” said Greg Stafford, general manager. “Not only will we be able to drastically reduce our paper consumption and printing costs, but it also serves as a tool to show our Hilton Inn at Penn guests that sustainability and luxury can easily coexist.”

Included among the hotel’s other renovations are the installation of an energy management system, which helps to reduce guestroom electricity consumption by as much as 45 percent, and low flow toilets which reduce water consumption a third.

“When Intelity ICE was conceived, it was done with the purpose of providing simple solutions for real challenges in the hospitality industry,” said David Adelson, CEO, Intelity. “The idea that our product can be an essential part of something that is much bigger, like helping hoteliers to significantly lower their carbon footprint, is one of the best rewards of using our technology.”
