Comfort Inn in Butte, Mont., Installs Lodging Technology’s GEM System

ROANOKE, VA.—The Comfort Inn, Butte Montana, which is managed by Town Pump, Inc., has installed Lodging Technology’s GEM System Energy Management in all 145 guestrooms. GEM System, an infrared sensor-based guestroom energy management system, reduces room energy costs 35 percent to 45 percent by maintaining “management-preferred” temperatures in rooms while guests are out. MADISON, WISC.—Leonardo Academy, respected for its work on sustainable buildings and climate change, has provided third-party carbon negative certification for the global operations of Milliken & Company without purchased offset credits. The Leonardo Academy Draft Standard for Trial Use LEO-5000 provided the criteria used in this pilot program. “Milliken is providing great leadership in sustainability actions,” said Michael Arny, founder and president of the Leonardo Academy. Carlisle, Solyndra Enter Contract to Deliver PV Systems for Cool Roofs

CARLISLE, PA.—Carlisle Energy Services, a newly formed division of Carlisle Construction Materials and a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient single-ply roofing systems, announced it has signed a long-term sales contract worth up to $320 million with Solyndra, Inc., a manufacturer of proprietary photovoltaic (PV) systems designed to optimize solar electricity production on commercial rooftops. NSF-ISR Receives Greenhouse Gas Accreditation

ANN ARBOR, MICH.—NSF International Strategic Registrations (NSF-ISR), a North American leader in management systems registrations, announced it has obtained Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
