FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA.—Valley Forge Fabrics Inc. announces FRESH: Fabrics Redefining Environmental Standards (for) Hospitality. As the acronym implies, FRESH represents the first environmentally friendly comprehensive fabric program designed specifically for the hospitality industry. With more than 200 fabrics spanning three opening volumes, FRESH creates a new benchmark for selection and diversity in environmentally friendly fabrics for the hospitality design community and the United States’ 3 million hotel guestrooms.
FRESH fabrics are made with synthetic yarns derived from post-industrial and post-consumer recycled products that are made at a low impact manufacturing platform. Because of their unique construction, FRESH fabrics are recyclable. As a part of their commitment to pioneering environmentally friendly fabrics in the hospitality industry, Valley Forge offers customers a pickup and delivery service that will deliver FRESH fabrics to a recycling facility at the end of their life cycle. This radical departure from traditional disposal is aimed at further protecting the environment by alleviating mounting pressure on landfill capacity.
Valley Forge has designed each fabric in the FRESH collection to exceed hospitality and contract industry standards, including the appropriate specifications for durability, flame retardancy, colorfastness, strength and serviceability. FRESH will make its formal debut at the Hospitality Design Expo & Conference on May 9, 2007 in Las Vegas.
“The FRESH Program fabrics are all high-end designs in fashionable colors that make it easy for hotel designers and operators to incorporate a green alternative as part of their regular business plan,” says Diana Dobin, Valley Forge’s Vice President of Design and Sales. “This new product launch provides the hospitality and gaming industry with a starting point to meet their guest’s concerns for cleaner, more earth friendly hotel environments. By using such a wide range of recycled and recyclable decorative textiles, hotels and casinos can have a positive impact on our quality of life without any adverse impact to their bottom line.”
