BOSTON—Force of Nature, the toxic-free cleaning brand on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America, has announced its status as the first certified Carbon Neutral disinfectant in the industry. The company’s appliances use electricity to convert salt, water and vinegar into an all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer, and EPA registered disinfectant formula as effective as bleach. The Force of Nature systems eliminate all single-use plastic bottles, and through their partnership with ClimatePartner, the company has also achieved Carbon Neutral certification.

“As a company committed to creating a more sustainable future, we are proud to announce that we are now the first EPA-registered disinfectant to be certified Carbon Neutral,” said Sandy Posa, CEO of Force of Nature. “Through our partnership with ClimatePartner, the leading climate action solution provider, we are taking meaningful action to reduce our environmental impact and help our customers do the same.”

In collaboration with ClimatePartner, Force of Nature has assessed its carbon footprint across its supply chain and operations, including sourcing, production, distribution, and packaging. The company is supporting an internationally recognized and certified carbon offset project, which aims to reduce emissions by transitioning to sustainable wind power.

Force of Nature’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond its partnership with ClimatePartner. By switching to Force of Nature, customers reduce plastic waste by 97 percent compared to typical bottled cleaning products. “As a company, sustainability is at the core of what we do,” said Posa. “After years of being the only Green Seal certified disinfectant, we’re excited to join the ranks as the only ClimatePartner certified Carbon Neutral disinfectant. We’re extremely proud that Force of Nature has 10 times fewer emissions than a typical bottled cleaner.”

Appliances Come in Two Sizes

Force of Nature makes their appliances in 2 sizes: Force of Nature, which makes 12 ounces at a time, and Force of Nature Pro, their system for large and high traffic spaces which makes 32 or 64 oz at a time. Both appliances create the same powerful all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer and EPA registered disinfectant using an industrial technology called electrolyzed water. The anti-microbial in electrolyzed water, hypochlorous acid, is as effective as bleach, while being so gentle it is used in wound healing and eye care products. In laboratory tests at UMass Lowell, Force of Nature was proven to be just as effective as the leading brands in cleaning and deodorizing without toxic ingredients. The Force of Nature formula kills 99.9 percent of bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew. It also costs significantly less per gallon than the top brands, making it accessible to anyone who wants to reduce waste and the health risks from typical cleaners.

ClimatePartner helps businesses calculate, reduce, and offset their carbon footprints through a range of solutions and certified climate protection projects. The partnership with Force of Nature is a part of ClimatePartner’s mission to work with businesses to make sustainability a core part of their operations.
