MORROW, GA.—TOTO, a leader in sustainable manufacturing and green business practices, has been recognized by the Brookings Institution as the leader in clean jobs creation in the Water Efficient Products sector for the greater Atlanta area. According to Brookings’ recent report entitled, “Sizing the Clean Economy: A National and Regional Green Jobs Assessment,” the “green” or “clean” or low-carbon economy is defined as “that sector of the economy that produces goods and services with an environmental benefit.” The coming Clean Economy, Brookings maintains, will define America’s low carbon future and provide employment opportunities for workers at all levels of the income and skills, making it an important element in America’s emerging economy.

“We are honored that our work to optimize green manufacturing protocols and provide jobs for the Clean Economy has been recognized by the esteemed Brookings Institution,” said Daijirio Nogata, president of TOTO. “Since our founding in 1917, protecting the global environment by conserving its finite natural resources has been our abiding mission. Growing our Clean Economy workforce will continue to be a top priority.”

TOTO adds the Brookings Institution’s recognition as a Clean Economy leader to the numerous awards and recognitions it has received for its leadership in environmental sustainability, green business practices, and clean (or green) jobs creation.
