MILWAUKEE, WIS.—Telkonet, Inc., a company specializing in integrated intelligent networking and smart energy management solutions, is generating savings through a new SmartEnergy installation within the Springhill Suites hotel on Paradise Road in Las Vegas. This recently completed installation has enabled the hotel to expand its environmental awareness initiatives while recognizing significant savings on its energy reduction. By using Telkonet’s SmartEnergy platform, the hotel is able to implement a program that ensures guest comfort while optimizing energy savings.

With 300 guestrooms and nine conference rooms totaling more than 4,500 square feet of conference space, the Springhill Suites recognized a significant opportunity to manage its costs. With commercial buildings totaling more than 70 percent of overall energy consumption and U.S hotels spending almost $4 billion on energy each year, Springhill Suites understood the savings potential in managing its energy needs. The Springhill Suites worked with Telkonet to customize its energy management installation to ensure a high level of guest comfort while reducing the energy consumed by unoccupied rooms.

“The Telkonet Smart Energy solution is helping us reach our goal of a 25 percent decrease in energy and water consumption per available room by 2017,” stated Scott Hooker, general manager. “Telkonet’s proven energy savings and performance in the hospitality market was a key factor in choosing Telkonet SmartEnergy for our property.”

“We’re thrilled with Springhill Suites’ choice of Telkonet’s SmartEnergy and look forward to maximizing savings and comfort for the hotel and its guests,” said Jeff Sobieski, chief operating officer for Telkonet.

Telkonet’s SmartEnergy platform is currently installed in several hundred thousand rooms throughout the world and across most major hospitality brands.
