SOLON, OHIO—Tarkett’s leadership in commercial design was recently recognized by the Starnet Design Awards, for which the company’s innovative and sustainable flooring products contributed to 18 of 20 award-winning projects. Now in its 25th year, the annual Starnet Design Awards program celebrates outstanding projects completed by the organization’s commercial flooring contractors in collaboration with architects, designers, and manufacturing partners.

“Working with Starnet’s network of commercial flooring contractors helps us deliver superior results for our customers in every market segment,” said Rusty Joyce, president, Tarkett Commercial. “The Starnet Design Awards are a great way to highlight the amazing work that can be done when partnering with these consummate professionals, and Tarkett’s involvement in such a high number of the award-winning projects demonstrates that our products deliver the absolute best in commercial design and performance.”

Of the 18 projects Tarkett contributed to, eight were awarded gold in their respective categories, including the grand prize winner, Children’s Hospital Hubbard Center for Children in Omaha, Nebraska, which also won the gold award in Healthcare and bronze in the Unique Installation Challenge category. The project, designed by HDR, included Tarkett resilient surfaces and product solutions from Tarkett’s renowned Johnsonite brand, which were installed by Starnet member Commercial Flooring Systems, Inc.

Bronze Award in Hospitality Category

Tarkett’s own Fulton Market showroom in Chicago also received recognition, receiving a bronze award in the Hospitality category. The space, which opened in 2022, was designed by Kuchar Studio. Flooring for the winning showroom design was installed by Starnet member Consolidated Flooring of Chicago.

Starnet Design Award winners were selected by a panel of four judges across eight categories: Corporate, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality and Public Space, Mixed-Use Developments, Single Source Interior Contractor, Unique Installation Challenge, and Canadian Project of the Year.

Earlier this year, Tarkett Commercial Regional Healthcare Specialist Karen Perucki was named to the Starnet Dream Team, an annual recognition of the exceptional relationships between Starnet members and preferred vendor partners. Perucki was recognized for her partnership with James Krotzer of Corporate Floors in Texas.

Since 1992, Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Cooperative has served the industry as a trusted partnership of commercial flooring professionals and quality flooring manufacturers. More than 170+ independent contractors doing business in nearly 400 locations across North America have become more profitable while building the market share of Starnet’s manufacturing partners. Through collective strength, integrity, shared best practices and advocacy of training, Starnet members and vendor partners ensure improved project outcomes, complete customer satisfaction and reduce costs related to doing business. The membership’s strength in numbers creates a combined annual material and labor sales volume of over four billion dollars.
