HIGHLAND PARK, ILL.—Hotels and spas looking for low maintenance, high performance and high design air purifiers have not had much of choice until now, according to Steve Tilkin, principal at T2 Site Amenities. Winner of many design awards, the air purifier by LightAir removes practically all airborne impurities including viruses, bacteria, dust, allergens, pet dander, pollen, and mold.
Tilkin mentioned that many hotel properties have had poor experiences with other air purfiers that required high maintenance or released ozone. The LightAir product however, requires minimal maintenance. There are no filters to clean or replace. The housekeeping staff just cleans the metal collection cylinder when needed—usually once every two or three weeks. The LightAir product is also completely silent, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. And it doesn’t look like an appliance, a key factor for many hotels and spas concerned about aesthetics.
Today, more and more hotels are looking for various “green certifications” and listings to help drive business. “Offering the LightAir air purifier in guestrooms, meeting rooms, spas and fitness areas reinforces the property’s “green credentials” while providing a green advantage, stated Tilkin.
The LightAir units are available in stand-alone and ceiling mounted versions. The LightAir purifier and other “green” products will be at T2 booth 3683 at the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show in New York City. The show runs November 9 to November 11.
