Created by nonprofit Sustainable Travel International (STI), the Report provides travel and tourism professionals, travelers, and the travel media with comprehensive and up-to-date news and information on all aspects of the ever expanding sustainable tourism movement.
The Report features breaking regional and trade news as well as original feature articles, profiles, interviews and guest commentary on emerging trends and best practices within the travel industry. The site also provides in-depth coverage on topics like sustainable tourism certification, voluntourism, traveler philanthropy, community development, climate change, and zero waste and supply chain management.
The site is a resource for travelers as well, featuring consumer-friendly information, including practical tips for travelers on how to maximize their positive impacts while on vacation, select responsible travel providers, and learn about exciting green travel opportunities across the globe.
According to Sustainable Travel International’s CEO Brian Mullis, “There is a real thirst for current information about sustainable tourism, and a lot of confusion about what it means to be ‘green.’ We wanted to create a resource for anyone who is interested in responsible travel, whether they happen to be the CEO of a major airline or a traveler who wants to learn how to protect the places they visit.”
