NEW YORK—Speed Queen, a provider of commercial laundry equipment, recently featured its SC060, a 60-pound washer-extractor equipped with its Quantum Gold control at the 2012 International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show in New York City.
The washer-extractor is ideal for hotel laundries because it can wash extra-large items, such as king-size comforters, rugs and quilts.
Speed Queen hardmount washer-extractors help reduce operating expenses and increase profitability. The machines use 33 percent less electrical energy, and 11 percent less water on average than previous models, which is enabled by Speed Queen’s proprietary advanced inverter technology, and innovative cylinder and sump system design.
Higher Extraction Speed Equals Shorter Dry Time
New technology allows for extraction options up to 200 G-Force for laundry managers looking to maximize water extraction. Higher extraction speeds lead to shorter dry times and lower dryer energy costs. When combined with OPT (Over-dry Prevention Technology) available on Speed Queen tumble dryers, users experience superior drying efficiency. To further increase efficiency, the washer-extractor offers a cylinder design that offers low water consumption by minimizing “non-wash” water with smaller sumps.
The hardmount washer-extractors also come equipped with Water Guardian technology, which detects drain and fill valves leaks. This provides owners peace of mind knowing they are not wasting water.
The SC060 has an intuitive chemical dispenser that enables staff to add up to four laundry chemicals at the beginning of the cycle. It also features alternate rotating wash action that produces excellent finished wash quality without damaging delicate fabrics.
When equipped with the Quantum Gold control, laundry managers can easily program the washer-extractor with the aid of a PC or PDA through an infrared connection, which includes the ability to customize 30 water levels. This port also provides information on laundry operations, as audit data can be downloaded to a computer to determine training issues, inefficiencies and more.
