HORSHAM, PENN.—Sofidel, a leading global provider of paper for hygienic and domestic use, introduced the latest innovative addition to its Papernet brand of HyTech dispensers. HyTech Ocean dispensers feature a mix of 30 percent plastics recovered from the ocean and 70 percent recycled industrial and post-consumer materials. Sofidel is also supporting a nonprofit environmental advocacy group to aid efforts such as cleaning plastics from our ocean.

“Repurposing ocean plastic not only reduces the amount of plastic currently in the water, but also helps us create durable products that won’t end up back in these marine ecosystems in the future,” said Fabio Vitali, Vice President, Marketing, Sofidel. “We believe that each customer’s HyTech Ocean purchase will make a difference for the planet.”

The latest research estimates that 11 million metric tons of plastics enter the ocean each year. The HyTech Ocean dispensers combine Peruvian and Patagonian recovered fishing nets, ocean debris and recycled land materials. The durability of the materials offers high-impact strength, reducing the likelihood of cracking and premature replacement. The ocean plastic dispensers are available as a mechanical hand towel dispenser, electronic hand towel dispenser and Twin Jumbo Roll toilet paper dispenser.

“Plastic pollution is one of the most visible, prolific threats facing our ocean today, and we need a global commitment to address it,” added Vitali. “Introducing solutions like HyTech Ocean that support the planet is increasingly important as the challenges facing our environment continue to grow.”
