GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.—The Radisson Grand Rapids Riverfront Hotel announced that it has implemented a facility-wide “Green Clean Sweep” by permanently replacing traditional cleaners and sanitizers with plant-based, environmentally preferable alternatives made by green chemical manufacturer EcoLogic Solutions.

In addition to the health and environmental benefits, the shift will reduce the hotel’s chemical costs and usage by an estimated 15 percent each year, according to Radisson Grand Rapids Riverfront Hotel general manager, Todd Roesler.

“Sustainable commercial cleaning supplies have come a long way recently,” said Roesler. “They’re now every bit as effective as the old fashioned alternatives, often lower in cost, and light years better for the planet. This is welcome news for our guests, our employees, and for the environment.”

Multiple Certifiers

The EcoLogic Solutions cleaning line is certified by Green Seal, EcoLogo, and the U.S. EPA Design for the Environment. The products contain no petroleum distillates, skin sensitizers, or noxious odors. They come in recyclable containers and are not tested on animals.

The “Green Clean Sweep” will cover every area of the hotel’s operations including guestrooms, common areas, the Landing Restaurant, the Landing Lounge, the kitchen, and the recently renovated meeting facilities and banquet rooms.

“Hats off to Todd Roesler and the entire hotel staff for embracing sustainability and setting a standard for all hotels in the area,” said Tim Wharton, the Midwest regional sales manager of EcoLogic Solutions.
