BUFFALO, N.Y.—From 2004 to 2009, PURE Solutions installed innovative “PURE allergy-friendly” rooms in 40 top hotels. In 2010, consumer acceptance and business innovation quadrupled these rooms to 5,000 rooms in 200 hotels worldwide. Hyatt, Hilton, Doubletree, Marriott, Wyndham, Fairmont, Westin, Sheraton, Residence Inn, Embassy Suites, NYLO, and Radisson now offer PURE rooms. PURE is available in hotels in 32 U.S. states and internationally in China, Taiwan, India, Australia, Greece, Malaysia, Aruba, Canada, Caribbean and Puerto Rico.

PURE Solutions’ aggressive growth in a difficult economy can be attributed to developing a creative way to help hoteliers provide these badly needed rooms for guests. Understanding the lack of excess funds available to tackle new initiatives, Thomas Kammerer, chairman of PURE Solutions NA, created a system for hotels to have PURE Rooms installed at no upfront cost. The project is funded by sharing the revenue received when charging a premium for these rooms.

“This innovative way to partner with customers has quadrupled the number of the company’s customers in 2010,” says Kammerer, “It’s a struggling economy for all types of businesses. In tough times, companies need to find innovative ways to sustain and generate new business.”

“Hotels find this a valuable guest amenity as PURE rooms create an allergy-friendly environment removing 98 percent of bacteria and viruses,” said Brian Brault, CEO of PURE Solutions. “One-third of travelers have allergies. With PURE Rooms in over 200 hotels nationwide, travelers can more easily find a PURE hotel and get a more restful sleep.”

“Adding PURE Rooms to the Thayer portfolio allows us to provide an appreciated program to our guests, while providing the hotel an opportunity to capture an extra premium,” said Frederic V. Malek, co-chairman, Thayer Lodging Group. “I applaud PURE for their innovative funding model. This model allows hoteliers to implement an innovative new room type, while making it cost effective for the hotel.”
