CHICAGO—PrefabPads, LLC, a U.S.-based manufacturing and distribution company, is celebrating a successful launch one year after debuting their My Cabin tiny homes in North America. The first production facility, located in Waukegan, Ill., has experienced a busy year building and shipping 21 units to homeowners and businesses across the country. My Cabin, a Latvian prefabricated home manufacturing company recognized for its striking Scandinavian design and versatility of living space, has quickly established a reputation in the tiny home market in the U.S. as demand continues to grow in western and southern states.

“We are thrilled with the initial success of My Cabin in the North American market, offering homeowners, lifestyle and golf resorts, gated communities and more a luxurious small living experience that boasts top notch materials, superior design, and timely delivery,” says Peter Seltenright, COO & Co-Founder. “We see the demand for tiny homes grow across the U.S. with an increasing interest in southern and western states. Being ‘made in America’ gives us a leg up on other manufactures. Our 30,000 square foot Waukegan plant allows us to design, build and ship the units in a timely period.”

My Cabin provides ready-made intentional solutions to small living, where functionality and design meet. Their sleek, elevated, and chic design is small while spacious and ingeniously practical. My Cabin homes can serve as a primary residence, extension of the home in the form of office space, guest quarters, home gym, pool house or storage, a getaway destination, a resort and rental destination and even a sauna. The possibilities are truly endless.

One Client is Talta Lodge

There are currently 11 units in different stages of production for customers for delivery in the next six months. One of My Cabin’s biggest clients is Talta Lodge, a contemporary mountain-base boutique lodge located in Stowe, Vermont, along the bank of the Little River. These nine customized, 456 square foot Milla Long units will be on property alongside the 51-room hotel and will be available to book year-round.

My Cabins have made their way to Airbnb’s across the country including one in Jefferson, N.Y. and another unit in the New York area being used as a second home.

Made with some of the most durable, sustainable materials and high-end interior finishes on the market, the homes provide a balanced and cozy environment intended for year-round living. PrefabPads has increased the level of engineering for My Cabin in North America to add maximum insulation values, high wind loads, and strong snow loads to meet U.S. building code in nearly every state.
