AUSTIN, TEXAS—Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) is conducting a comprehensive global search for the industry’s most innovative technologies to be exhibited in GUESTROOM 2010, a model guestroom featuring some of the latest and near-future technologies for the modern hotel room. The 2007 model of GUESTROOM 2010 will be featured in the exhibit hall at the 2007 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC). HITEC 2007 will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., June 25-28.

In order to design the 2007 version, HFTP is seeking new and upcoming technologies for the hotel guestroom. This includes non-traditional types of technology such as lighting, fabrics and furniture, as well as traditional technology such as next-generation televisions, phones and robots. Hospitality technology suppliers, consumer technology companies, inventors and others who have a technology product that should be considered for display must apply by April 13, 2007. You do not have to be a member of HFTP or a current HITEC 2007 exhibitor to participate.

Submissions will be considered and carefully chosen by the GUESTROOM 2010 Selection Committee, made up of hospitality technology leaders and experts.

A Successful 2006 Debut

In one place, GUESTROOM 2010 provides the ultimate guestroom experience enhanced by tomorrow’s technology. The exhibit debuted to maximum capacity crowds at HITEC 2006 in Minneapolis and was also on display at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York in November 2006. It will be on display for the second year at HITEC 2007 after receiving an overwhelming response during its inaugural year.

“GUESTROOM 2010 was a great success last year and we look forward to providing another amazing display of new and upcoming technologies this year,” says Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP Executive Vice President and CEO. “HFTP’s goal is to be the information source for the hospitality technology industry and projects like GUESTROOM 2010 give us the opportunity to be an important reference for cutting-edge and future technology.”

To have a technology considered for the 2007 model of GUESTROOM 2010, fill out the application on HITEC.org and submit it to HFTP by April 13. Mail, fax or e-mail the application, along with supporting documentation and photos of the proposed entry to GUESTROOM 2010, 11709 Boulder Lane, Ste. 110, Austin, TX 78726; Fax: (512) 249-1533; guestroom2010@hftp.org.
