NEW PORT RITCHEY, FLA.—Merrychef USA announced that it has reached an agreement to be the supplier of choice for accelerated cooking ovens to Global Hyatt Corp.’s newest brand, Hyatt Place.

Under the agreement, Merrychef will provide multiple Model 402(S) ovens for each property. The Merrychef ovens will provide accelerated cooking technology for the rebranded concept’s hot food offerings.

“Hyatt Place is revolutionary on many levels, and one of its most innovative components is the food and beverage program,” says John Vogelmeier, director of food and beverage operations, Select Hotels Group, LLC. “Because of that, we needed to make sure we chose the best partner to deliver on the array of high-quality food items we offer our guests, and we’re confident we made the right choice with Merrychef.”

“We’re excited to partner with Hyatt in providing kitchen solutions using Merrychef and sister brands from Enodis,” says Steve Beck, president of Merrychef USA. “The superior accelerated cooking technology behind Merrychef will serve the new Hyatt concept well and give its customers great food fast. The Hyatt name stands for service and we’re pleased to help them deliver on that promise.”

Hyatt Selects Other Enodis Brands

In addition to Merrychef, the new Hyatt Place Hotels will feature a variety of Enodis brands including Jackson warewashing equipment, Lincoln Foodservice Impingement Ovens, Delfield refrigeration products and Ice-O-Matic ice machines.

A global leader in accelerated cooking ovens, Merrychef has installed more than 70,000 microwave and combination technology ovens in foodservice operations in North America, the Middle East and Asia as well as throughout Europe in quick service restaurants, and in a variety of casual and fine dining operations.

“This opportunity shows the power of our strategy to provide our customers with kitchen equipment solutions that enable unique consumer experiences,” says Dave McCulloch, CEO of Enodis, the parent company of Merrychef. “We believe that accelerated cooking technology will dramatically shape the future demand for new cooking equipment. This is another clear example that the adoption of this technology has begun with major chains.”
