BETHESDA, MD.—Marriott International, Inc. opened the LEED certified 147-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott in College Park, Ga., on December 18. The SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway is owned by Grover Street Partners and managed by Marriott International. Adjacent to the Georgia International Convention Center and one mile from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway offers guests convenient access to ATL SkyTrain, the Atlanta Zoo, Turner Field, the CNN Center, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Six Flags over Georgia.

The ATL SkyTrain is an automated people mover (APM) line which recently opened at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The ride will take two minutes to travel from the terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson to the GICC/Gateway Station next to the hotel. This link will benefit all travelers with a speedy transit to the hotel.

“We’re delighted that the SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway is the latest addition to our growing number of properties across the U.S.,” said Brian King, senior vice president, Select Service and Extended Stay Brand Management, Marriott International. “This is a hotel for business and leisure travelers who want affordable lodging with the freedom of spacious accommodations and the comforts of home-like amenities, such as mini-refrigerators and microwave ovens.”

Market Offers Fresh Salad, Fruit

The SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway offers a complimentary breakfast buffet, business services, free weekday USA TODAY in lobby, same-day dry cleaning, guest laundry facilities, an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, a gourmet coffee selection, full-service bar and express checkout. A 24-hour market offering fresh salads, sandwiches and fruit cups, is also available in the lobby.

The hotel is LEED certified and is one of the first Marriott properties to earn this designation. The property has been recognized for incorporating the following environmentally friendly practices:

• Reducing water consumption and waste disposal in the hotel by using low-flow faucets, toilets and showerheads while meeting Marriott’s water flow requirements and reducing water consumption in landscaped areas by using drought resistant plants.

• Providing recycling bins for cardboard, paper, glass, plastic and aluminum in centralized locations as well as using 10 percent recycled and low-emitting materials in its construction.

• Reducing pollution by being purposely built next to the ATL SkyTrain.
