MT. VERNON, N.Y.—ICE AIR, the developer and manufacturer of a wide variety of HVAC units, has released ExactFit  PTACs (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners) for demanding renovation or retrofit applications in the hospitality industry where existing cooling and heating units need to be replaced. PTACs, which are self-contained, individually- controlled air conditioners, installed through the wall of rooms with an outside wall, are found throughout the hospitality market.

The ICE AIR ExactFit PTACs include the RS, RSC and RSMK Series, and replace existing equipment from various OEM PTAC manufacturers common in this market, including Carrier, Heil Quaker, ZoneAire, McQuay, Applied Comfort and others.

“The advantages of our ExactFits are flexibility and our willingness to work with customer requirements, along with all the other benefits of why they went with PTACs in the first place,” president and co-CEO Mo Siegel said. “These reasons included not requiring duct work, thereby reducing the costs and amount of space needed for installation, the cost savings on a per unit basis, and the relative inexpensiveness to operate a PTAC.”

Easy to Install

The ExactFit PTACs from ICE AIR are easy to install and match up with the existing configurations of the original equipment. For example, the RSMK units replace McQuay, Singer and Remington “Type K” equipment, including chassis, heat sections, fan decks and control boxes.

“We have a wide range of customizable options, including different heater types, new room cabinets and various control options,” Siegel said.

ExactFit units have been manufactured since the 1970s, and hundreds of thousands of units are in operation. The units are energy efficient and provide ultra-quiet performance and easy operation to meet most building needs. Models are ETL listed for safety in the United States and Canada, meet required building codes and Federal Energy Efficiency requirements and are tested to current ARI standards.
