LOUIS, MO.—Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, a premier business and leisure hotel located in the heart of downtown St. Louis on the iconic Gateway Arch grounds, helped to feed more than 600 local families this summer through volunteering and packing family meals at Operation Food Search.

“At Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, it is our honor to help those in our local community and we are thrilled that we had the opportunity to aid in feeding more than 600 families this summer in our area,” said Randy Thompson, General Manager of Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch. “We feel it is our duty to serve our community not only during Hyatt’s Global Month of Giving, but throughout the year, and encourage our employees to be philanthropists within our city.”

On June 13, the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch Sales & Events team and clients volunteered at Operation Food Search, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in the greater St. Louis area and distributes food to those in need. The volunteers helped pack more than 600 family meals, which are given to families in the St. Louis area. Each Friday this summer, 100 meals are distributed in the area in an effort to decrease those who have no option but to go hungry.

Global Month of Giving Activities

Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch is committed to serving its local community with giving back projects throughout the year. Recently, the hotel’s team members took part in several community service activities as part of Hyatt Corporate’s Global Month of Giving in April. On April 11, hotel employees helped walk dogs at Stray Rescue of St. Louis, an animal shelter that rescues strays in need of medical attention and nurses them back to health so they are able to be adopted into loving homes. Hotel employees also volunteered at Kingdom House, one of the hotel’s community partners which helps economically disadvantaged residents achieve economic independence and a path out of poverty, on April 16 to aid in beautifying the nonprofit organization’s grounds. The volunteers helped spread more than 100 bags of mulch and planted spring flowers with the help of their partner, Ambius, a local plant service.

Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch employees also participated in the Walk of Hope St. Louis on April 22 to help raise funds and awareness for individuals struggling with infertility. The hotel’s team raised $575 at the walk to support the cause. Additionally, on May 19, a team of Hyatt employees joined Jacque Woods, Sales Manager at the hotel, to take part in the Lupus Walk, which aims to cure the disease that causes the immune system to attack its own tissues and organs. In support of the cause and of Jacque, who has been battling Lupus for 16 years, the team raised $815 during the walk.

Hyatt’s Global Month of Giving is in its eighth year in which Hyatt employees and World of Hyatt members come together during the month of April to participate in serving their local communities with various volunteer events for local-area organizations and fundraisers.
