BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Guests planning a stay at Hotel BPM Brooklyn will see more “green” than the hotel’s lime green décor. Hotel BPM by DJ BIJAL, named for the music term referring to the pace count of a song, “beats per minute,” is helping the environment through various eco-friendly amenities and initiatives on property. From the air conditioner units and lighting to the in-room amenities, Hotel BPM continues to make great strides to go green.

Upon stepping foot in one of the boutique property’s 76 rooms, guests can unwind with air conditioner units that keep the room at a guest’s desired temperature while adjusting air and heat levels based on occupancy, LED Energy Star rated lighting and LED Smart TVs.

Additionally, Hotel BPM has sought out ways to reduce waste including eco-pumps for the already eco-friendly bath products, which donate a portion of net profits to support honeybee and sustainable pollination research, featured in the guestroom bathrooms. The coffeemakers allow guests to make one cup of coffee as needed, and RFID keys, which last longer than the magnetic keys commonly, used by hotels—round out the green amenities at Hotel BPM. Receipts are also e-mailed as opposed to printed which greatly helps reduce the amount of paper wasted.

“It is our goal for the hotel to be as eco-friendly as possible,” said DJ BIJAL, founder and visionary of Hotel BPM. “We have embraced this responsibility and that translates into the hotel’s core principle of operations, and it helps our overall community.”
