LAS VEGAS—Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has expanded its Sunbrella branded offerings with the premiere of a full portfolio of Sunbrella Contract fabrics at this month’s HD Expo in Las Vegas. The fabrics are designed specifically for indoor and outdoor use.

“The Sunbrella brand is known for beautiful, durable fabrics for the furniture, awning and marine industries,” said Allen Hawks, contract fabrics market manager for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “Our move into the contract market was done with careful consideration, years of R&D work and the development of partnerships with leading decorative jobbers in the industry. We are pleased to offer Sunbrella Contract to the entire hospitality marketplace.”

Sunbrella Contract fabrics are currently available through Robert Allen Contract, Design Tex, CF Stinson and Maharam. Each of the companies carries its own exclusive Sunbrella Contract fabrics, providing a wide portfolio of fabric selections. Two of the fabrics, a filling-face twill and plain-weave canvas, were the first to attain Silver level conformance with the NSF/ANSI 336-2011 Sustainable Assessment for Commercial Furnishings Fabrics. Available through Robert Allen Contract and Design Tex, these conforming fabrics coordinate with other Sunbrella Contract offerings.

At HD Expo, Glen Raven Custom Fabrics offered information to booth visitors on its Recycle My Sunbrella program, which reclaims post-industrial and post-consumer Sunbrella fabric waste. The company turns the post-consumer fabric waste into industrial products such as felt, insulation and padding. Additionally, the company uses a portion of the post-industrial recycled fiber in its Sunbrella Renaissance Rug program with CMI and in the Sunbrella Heritage upholstery program, which is certified for contract use.

“The industry has responded well to our sustainability efforts, which is something we have been passionate about for more than 20 years,” Hawks said. “The conformance of two Sunbrella Contract fabrics with the NSF/ANSI 336 certification and efforts to continue and grow Recycle My Sunbrella program has opened dialogue with the hospitality design community and aided in a successful launch of this new collection of fabrics.”
