TROY, N.Y.—Audubon International, the environmentally focused nonprofit organization offering members numerous certifications and conservation initiatives to protect the areas where we all live, work, and play—salutes Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico, a new part of the Bahía Beach Resort community, for keeping sustainable best practices at the heart of its operations after earning Green Hospitality Platinum Certification.

“Puerto Rico, and Bahía Beach in particular, are leading a Caribbean-wide effort to build on its longstanding stewardship culture,” says Christine Kane, CEO of Audubon International. “As a top-tier luxury hospitality brand, Four Seasons fits seamlessly into this effort. We congratulate their entire team as they build on their Platinum Certification in service to their guests, the island community, and one of Earth’s most environmentally diverse regions.”

The Green Hospitality Program provides third-party verification that certified lodging facilities have met environmental best practice standards and have demonstrated a strong commitment to making improvements. Areas of focus include Communication, Community, Waste & Materials, Water Conservation, Energy, and Chemicals & Air Quality. Properties must recertify every three years. Four Seasons is now an intrinsic member of an ecosystem planned and developed from Bahía Beach’s earliest days thanks to a stewardship-driven ownership and management philosophy embodied in Soul of Bahía, a community-based nonprofit organization.

“As we join the Bahía Beach Community, we see this as an incredible opportunity for Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico to celebrate the natural beauty and cultural richness of this destination,” says Pablo Molinari, General Manager. “Sustainability is not just a practice; it’s part of our DNA. From protecting local ecosystems to engaging our team and guests in meaningful initiatives, we are committed to ensuring that every experience reflects our respect for the environment and the community we serve.”

Educational Programs on Local Biodiversity

Molinari adds that employees participate in programs focused on conservation and community engagement. “For guests, we highlight our efforts through curated experiences, such as nature walks, educational programs on local biodiversity, and collaborations with local organizations that protect Puerto Rico’s ecosystems.”

Greg Poirier, Audubon International’s Global Director of Green Hospitality Certifications, salutes the resort’s deep commitment to building on its Platinum bona fides. “They’re showing Puerto Rico visitors and residents that while top-notch luxury accommodations and service are central to the Four Seasons brand, contributing to the island’s health and welfare is vital in today’s business climate. “We look forward to working with everyone at Four Seasons to take things to an even bigger level. We all love Puerto Rico.”
