SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ.—As part of its ongoing program of green initiatives, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess will offer complimentary overnight valet parking to guests who arrive in a hybrid vehicle. Beginning August 21, guests who drive a hybrid vehicle will enjoy the convenience of the resort’s overnight valet parking service, valued at $23 per night, for free.

“We are excited about including our guests in our environmental programs such as the recycling effort in Willow Stream Spa and our Sonoran Trail eco-tour,” says Bob Foster, the resort’s general manager. “Offering complimentary valet parking is just one more way to encourage green-minded guests to enjoy our resort.”

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess joins five California Fairmont Hotels (the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, the Fairmont San Jose, the Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica, the Fairmont San Francisco and the Fairmont Newport Beach) as well as Quebec’s Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in offering complimentary valet parking to its overnight guests.

The effort is part of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ Green Partnership, the company’s award-winning environmental program. As the first major hotel chain in North America to embrace environmental stewardship in its daily operations, Fairmont focuses on improvements in the areas of waste management, energy and water conservation, as well as a strong element of community outreach through local groups and partnerships. Green Teams of Fairmont employees worldwide work to ensure that the Green Partnership continues to grow and evolve.

In Scottsdale, Green Team colleagues have created an on-site eco tour called the Sonoran Trail; adopted a rescued Desert Tortoise, which is a threatened species in the Sonoran Desert; instituted a recycling program that generates more than 200 tons of recycled products each year; implemented paper reduction strategies; and put in place various energy and water conservation measures among numerous other efforts.
