ASHLAND, ORE.—DreamSacks Inc. has launched a line of bedding made from 100 percent bamboo fiber. Often compared to silk or very high thread count cotton, bamboo is extra gentle next to the skin and wicks moisture away from the body.

Bamboo is a fast growing grass that regenerates quickly in the wild, free from chemicals and fertilizers. It can grow up to a foot a day, making it a highly sustainable resource that is completely biodegradable. Using a process similar to making paper, the bamboo pulp is refined so it can be spun into fabric.

In addition to having a luscious feel, bamboo is hypoallergenic and anti-microbial so it resists odors. The composition of the bamboo fiber allows skin to breathe, making it an ideal fabric for bed linens for a comfortable night’s sleep.

DreamSacks is also introducing pure bamboo blankets, so soft that baby blankets are included in the line. In addition, DreamSacks is working with a bamboo factory to create pure bamboo coverlets that have bamboo fiber on the outside with a soft bamboo fill on the inside. Bamboo sheets, blankets and coverlets are available in a range of natural colors.
