PORTLAND, ORE.—OpConnect, LLC, a leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging station technology, announced the installation of its smart EV charging system in the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland parking facility. The charging stations, supported by the OpConnect wireless communications network, feature high-resolution touch screens designed to deliver superior quality interactive advertising and messaging. These charging stations will operate under a long-term advertising supported agreement. Under the mutually beneficial agreement, both OpConnect and DoubleTree will receive revenue generated as a result of advertising displayed on the charging stations, in addition to usage revenue from EV drivers.
“Installation of EV charging infrastructure by the private sector will be driven by the ability to generate revenue with the charging stations,” said Dexter Turner, OpConnect CEO. “Our advertising supported model is an excellent way to do that. The charging stations complement the free covered bicycle parking and complimentary guest bike rentals giving guests and neighbors alternative transportation options when arriving in the Lloyd District.
