SHEFFIELD, MASS.—Cypress Bath, Bed & Spa, a leading designer and manufacturer of luxury bathrobes, towels, slippers, and sheets for the global hospitality and spa industries, announced the appointment of Neil Rastogi to the position of vice president of business development. Among other executive leadership responsibilities, his primary role will be to grow the U.S. market for environmentally-friendly linens, and achieve a larger market share for Cypress’ consumer and hospitality product lines.

Rastogi brings a lifetime of textile experience to Cypress, having grown up working in a family-run mill in India and working for textile companies worldwide since graduating from the University of Hartford in Hartford, Conn., in 1981. He hopes to leverage his experience in manufacturing, finance and marketing to further develop Cypress’ current branding efforts and increase sales for their flagship Green Earth brand.

“For the past 10 years, I’ve been consulting and providing marketing and logistics services to various companies in the United States, Europe and Asia,” Rastogi said. “Recently, working with Cypress CEO Gene Faul, we established the U.S. division for their Green Earth and MicroCotton product lines. Having an acute understanding of these brands from the beginning will provide me with the ability to further develop unique opportunities for both short-term and long-term growth.”

Adding an individual with Rastogi’s experience to the leadership team also creates opportunities to differentiate the brands, as Cypress pursues additional sales channels for its diverse product lines.

“Neil’s an encyclopedia of textile information,” said Gene Faul, CEO of Cypress Bath, Bed and Spa. “He’s got experience in the manufacturing, dyeing and printing of fabric, as well as the manufacturing of apparel and home furnishings. His background in setting up and managing the supply chain for national retailers will also prove invaluable as we seek to grow our brand through the many opportunities being presented to us.”

Rastogi will be based in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and may be reached via e-mail at 2rastogi@bellsouth.net, and via phone at (413) 229-3012.
