FREMONT, CALIF.—Power Knot LLC, a market leader for on-site organic waste management solutions, announced that Coral Beach Resort Sharjah has installed an LFC biodigester, becoming the first hotel in Sharjah to commission and operate the technology.
Coral Beach Resort Sharjah is a four-star beachfront hotel overlooking the Arabian Gulf in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The resort features four restaurants, swimming pools, a spa and fitness center, recreational facilities, tennis courts, and water sports, providing a full-service destination for leisure and family travelers.
The installation supports the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority’s Food Waste Carbon Pilot Implementation, which aims to reduce food waste and its environmental impact across the hospitality sector.
The LFC biodigester uses microorganisms in a natural aerobic digestion process to break down food waste directly on site. For Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, the system provides a practical way to manage waste from food preparation, buffet operations, and uneaten food while simplifying kitchen operations and reducing reliance on conventional waste collection.
Innovative Biodigester Technology

The four-star beachfront resort has introduced several resource conservation initiatives, including an on-site water bottling plant, the Coralganic organic garden, and energy and water conservation programs. These efforts earned the resort the Sustain Sharjah Award at the Sharjah International Travel & Tourism Forum Awards 2025.
The LFC biodigester builds on this commitment, integrating food waste management into daily hotel operations.
