OSHKOSH, WIS.—Continental Girbau, Inc. recently introduced the 55-pound capacity E-Series, a soft-mount washer-extractor engineered to reduce operating costs at on-premise laundries through decreased gas, water and electricity consumption. The E-Series line of high-speed, soft-mount washers previously included 20-, 30- and 40-pound capacity models. But, the market’s demand for a larger option spurred the addition of the new 55-pound capacity machine, according to Joel Jorgensen, Continental vice president of sales and customer services.
“On-premise laundries demand high-speed, soft-mount washers in order to improve productivity using less labor and utilities,” Jorgensen said. “Continental’s 55-pound machine is just the next step in the continued expansion of the E-Series line.”
The 55-pound model mirrors the 40-pound capacity E-Series in performance and programmability.
“Just like the other E-Series models, the 55-pound E-Series offers a significant reduction in water, gas and electricity usage,” Jorgensen said. “It allows laundries to embrace energy-efficient ‘green’ benefits, lower utilities and labor, and improve productivity dramatically.”
Removes More Water Per Load
E-Series Washers provide a high-speed, efficient alternative to hard-mount machines. E-Series Washers consume less water than traditional frontload washers and offer high-speed extract reaching up to 354 G-force. By comparison, hard-mount washers only reach 80 to 150 G-force extract speeds. As a result, E-Series Washers remove considerably more water from each load, which reduces the time and utility costs required to dry a load of laundry by as much as 50 percent.
Because laundry takes less time to dry, drying tumblers and linens experience less wear and tear. This improves the longevity of linens and towels, as well as dryers.
As freestanding machines, E-Series Washers can be installed without bolts and special reinforced concrete foundations, allowing for quick installation. This expands machine location possibilities. No longer is a facility dependent upon the construction of a specially engineered concrete foundation. E-Series Washers can be installed in unconventional locations including areas with wood floors and second-story laundries—all with little or no floor preparation and cost.
The new 55-pound washer features Continental’s most advanced programmable control available—the Intelligent (Inteli) Control. The Inteli delivers 20 pre-programmed cycles and up to 79 individually modifiable cycles. The control’s high-level flexibility is key to increasing productivity in on-premise laundries. By customizing programs according to specific load type, the Inteli shortens the time required to process load-boosting productivity. In addition, the control flexibility provides protection from costly linen damage due to unnecessary processing and chemical damage. Once the programs are set, operators simply select a program number and push start.
