RICHMOND, VA.—The 7th Annual Virginia Green Travel Conference & Travel Star Awards will be held March 19 to 20 at the Hilton Richmond Downtown. The event will include a green tourism business expo and many educational sessions and workshops.
The first day will feature a Virginia Green Travel Certification course, a sustainability tour of the Hilton Richmond Downtown, an update from the Virginia Green Travel Alliance, and a keynote on Climate Change in the Commonwealth. Also on the agenda the first day: a general session on sustainability in the lodging industry, general session on recycling myths and facts, and workshops on composting, the environmental impacts of transportation, and clean energy and energy efficiency. The first day will wrap up with the Virginia Green Travel Star Awards reception.
The second day will include a keynote presentation: Update from the Capitol: Green News for the Tourism Sector. Also on the agenda: a general session featuring the Travel Star Awards winners, and workshops on Making the Most of Virginia Green in Your Community, and Travel Star Award Winners Case Study.
