NEW YORK—This year at Boutique Design New York (BDNY), the leading trade fair and conference for hospitality’s boutique and lifestyle segment, Valley Forge will share one of BDNY’s signature designed spaces with several other talented and like-minded individuals.

The Enchanted Forest booth (#2339) is a collaboration between Wimberly Interiors, Valley Forge, and eight other sponsors. The inspired space was designed to thoughtfully showcase the potential global impact of using recycled materials and finishes to create a space in the hospitality world.

Enhancing the subject and design of the Enchanted Forest booth is a special session moderated by Valley Forge’s President & Chief Sustainability Officer, Diana Dobin. This session, titled Eco-Friendly Design: Making A Sustainable Difference as an Industry, will review the countless conversations about sustainability that are happening in our offices, design and planning sessions, product meetings, and in between the companies and consumers we serve. This session will delve into discussions surrounding which conversations are essential for moving and pushing sustainability forward to make a difference as an industry overall.

“This sustainability discussion is not the run-of-the-mill panel that reiterates the things our industry already knows and does in regard to sustainability. We will not be talking about the low hanging fruit that many hotels have embraced like recycling programs as well as environmental design decisions like using recycled content and efficient HVAC systems. This panel goes deeper and explores the unique personalized approach to sustainability that is being driven by today’s consumers and is reflected through special sustainable strategic design choices.”

Joining Diana from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on November 10h are four industry professionals who are highly regarded for their knowledge and insight into today’s sustainability practices: Stephen Brockman, Senior Principal, Deborah Berke & Partners; Julie Frank, Senior Vice President of Design, Highgate; Lara Shortall, Director, A&D solutions, MindClick; and Audra Tuskes, Vice President of Design, NeueHouse.
