KINGSEY FALLS, QUEBEC—Cascades Inc. has launched its fifth Sustainable Development Plan, which includes several concrete actions and reaffirms the company’s commitment to actively contributing to sustainable development by collaborating with its customers, suppliers, and business partners. Cascades is also taking this opportunity to announce the signing of several partnerships related to biodiversity and environmental preservation, a key commitment of its new plan. The company is renewing its agreements with Parc Marie-Victorin, the David Suzuki Foundation, and the Granby Zoo, entering into a new partnership with Wildlife Habitat Canada, and continuing its collaboration with Mission 1000 Tonnes.
An Ambitious Plan to Inspire Change
Entitled “Rising Together,” this new 2026-2030 sustainable development plan is structured around four pillars: a preserved environment, eco-designed products, fulfilled employees, and engaged partners. Developed after several months of work and based on consultations involving its employees, suppliers, customers, partners, and members of its management team, this plan provides a clear roadmap to guide Cascades’ actions over the next five years. Comprising 18 commitments and 10 measurable targets, it will enable the company to increase its positive impact while reducing its environmental footprint and that of its customers.
To achieve this, Cascades is committed to, among other things:
- continue to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its operations and supply chain, in accordance with the requirements of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTI);
- guarantee a supply of virgin fibers from well-managed forests that do not contribute to deforestation or the conversion of natural ecosystems;
- to do business with responsible suppliers who respect its environmental, social and human rights requirements;
- continue to increase prevention in health and safety by positioning itself among the leaders in its industry in terms of recordable incident rates.

Based on Concrete Commitments

Alongside the launch of “Rising Together,” Cascades is announcing the renewal, signing, and continuation of key partnerships aimed at supporting concrete initiatives in biodiversity and the environment. Together, these commitments represent investments of over half a million dollars in 2026.
Marie-Victorin Park
A partner of Parc Marie-Victorin since its creation in 1985, Cascades is renewing its agreement for a five-year period (2025 to 2029), representing an annual investment of $275,000. This support will help preserve this iconic site, the largest ecological garden in Canada, and support its ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance biodiversity.
David Suzuki Foundation
Cascades is also renewing its agreement with the David Suzuki Foundation, a partner since 2016, for a period of two years (2026 to 2027), representing an annual investment of $100,000. This partnership supports the “Butterfly Effect” project, which aims to train and mobilize volunteers to create gardens of native plants in schools, public spaces and private land, thereby contributing to the creation of biodiversity corridors and the fight against the decline of pollinators.”
Granby Zoo
Cascades is renewing its partnership with the Granby Zoo, a partner since 2018, for a period of two years (2026 to 2027), representing an annual contribution of $50,000. This agreement allows the Zoo to purchase Cascades products, while also supporting the Granby Zoo Foundation with financial assistance that contributes to its conservation and education initiatives.
Wildlife Habitat Canada
Cascades has signed a new one-year agreement for 2026, worth $50,000. This agreement includes the implementation of a call for projects aimed at supporting initiatives in biodiversity protection.
Mission 1000 Tonnes
Cascades is also continuing its commitment to Mission 1000 Tonnes, a partner since 2021. The most recent agreement, covering the years 2025 to 2027, includes an annual investment of $30,000. This partnership enables, among other things, on-the-ground cleanup activities, in addition to supporting flagship initiatives such as the St. Lawrence Expedition. Cascades also supports the organization’s network of ambassadors, helping to mobilize volunteers worldwide.
