JACKSON HOLE, WYO.—Terra Resort Group, the Jackson Hole, Wyo.-based hotel management company, announced that Bruce Grosbety will serve as vice president of operations for Terra Resort Group and general manager of Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, its flagship eco-boutique hotel opening in January. In addition, the company has selected Afsi Behnam to be hotel manager for Hotel Terra. Both Grosbety and Behnam bring a wealth of luxury hotel experience to the new hotel, underscoring the company’s commitment to the highest service standards and guest amenities amidst an environmentally sustainable operation.

Bruce Grosbety draws on more than 20 years of experience in luxury hotel management, beginning at the Hyatt Orlando in 1986. From there Grosbety moved to the Hotel Parker Meridien as the guest relations manager. Following the Parker Meridian, he joined the Hotel Plaza Athenee, and then went on to the Essex House (both in New York) before joining the Lake Placid Resort in 1994 as director of operations. In 1996, Grosbety joined the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston as director of rooms before assuming the same post at The Pierre in New York, a Four Seasons property, in 1999. Grosbety came to Jackson Hole in 2002 to serve as the general manager of the Snake River Lodge & Spa, a RockResort. At Snake River Lodge & Spa, he led his staff of 185 in earning numerous prestigious honors, including the AAA four diamond award for four consecutive years, and supervised the successful operation of 155 rooms and suites, a 17,000-square-foot spa, and two restaurants.

Oversight of All TRG Properties

At Terra Resort Group, Grosbety will not only manage all elements of Hotel Terra Jackson Hole operations and drive the vision for that hotel, but as vice president of operations for Terra Resort Group, will oversee the operations for all TRG properties, including Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, the Inn at Jackson Hole, and the upcoming Little Nell in Jackson Hole. All TRG properties are located slopeside to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Afsi Behnam began her career in 1990 at the Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach, moving from front desk manager to assistant director of rooms. In 1999 she joined the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale as the director of rooms, helping the resort earn AAA five diamond status for the first time. After five years there, Behnam moved on to become the director of rooms for the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, again leading her staff to earn the property the five diamond award. Most recently, she served for four months as the director of rooms at the AAA five diamond Four Seasons Resort Aviara, managing the resort’s 318 guest rooms and suites and 97,060 square feet of meeting and function space. Behnam earned a business degree from Hoeher Handle Schule in Aachen, Germany, and is fluent in both German and Farsi.

“We’re creating an environmentally sustainable hotel that will enter the market at an unprecedented level of luxury,” says Terra Resort Group President of Operations, Jamie Yarrow. “Bruce and Afsi help us to fulfill that vision. Their experience in luxury is as deep as it is broad, and they share our commitment to a new generation of hospitality, where we can indulge our guests while preserving our natural surroundings.”
