Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa Collaborates with MindClick
SAN FRANCISCO—The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa, which debuted in February of this year, announced its collaboration with MindClick, a Product Intelligence company that rates the environmental and social impact of manufacturers and their products. In support of carbon reduction, the heath of people and the planet, Highgate—which manages the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa—worked closely with MindClick to carefully select products for the hotel. Turf Valley Resort Recognized for Environmental Excellence Through Audubon
ELLICOTT CITY, MD.—Turf Valley Resort announced it has retained its designation as “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. Turf Valley Resort is one of 19 golf courses in Maryland and over 900 in the world to hold the title of Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

Reuters: Number of Hotels Participating in Hotel Sustainability Basics Tops 50,000
Earlier this year in April, as reported here on Green Lodging News, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) launched its Hotel Sustainability Basics. “Developed by the industry for the industry, it highlights 12 actions which are fundamental to hotel sustainability and will help raise the base level of sustainability across the entire hospitality industry by providing every hotel a starting point on their sustainability journey,” the WTTC announcement said. Of the 12 criteria, hotels need to comply with eight initially, while the others can be committed to and put in place within three years.

USGBC Announces More Than 23 Million Square Feet of LEED Certified Net Zero
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Green Building Council announced nearly 100 net zero certifications earned under the LEED Zero program, representing more than 23 million square feet of space. One-fourth of LEED Zero projects earned multiple certifications, demonstrating achievement of net zero goals in several categories.
