Sustainability, Wellness Addressed in Hospitality Design Expo & Conference Lineup

LAS VEGAS—The organizers of the HD Expo & Conference have announced the conference schedule. The overall event will take place April 26 to 28 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Numerous conference sessions will focus on either sustainability, wellness, or green design, and one will focus on Women in Design. The following is a summary of these sessions:

Tuesday, April 26: Sustainability, Environment, Future—DesignWell Pavilion

Session description: What does sustainability mean today? What are innovative best practices? How do we continue to push the envelope? Experts talk through thoughtful approaches to high-performance, sustainably driven solutions.

Wednesday, April 27: HDAC Series: Holistic Wellbeing and Community by Design

Session description: The Hospitality Diversity Action Council looks at leading-edge, DEI-driven ideas for community-building and wellbeing by design. Exploring new brands, pro bono work, and more, industry leaders discuss why holistic design matters to hospitality.

Wednesday, April 27: Leading-Edge Experiential Design

The pandemic has accelerated many things including the importance of disconnecting from tech and reconnecting with nature. Indeed, from remote lodging to hotels immersed in nature, experiential venues hit a nerve with guests.

Wednesday, April 27: Design RX: Hospitality’s Positive Influence on Health and Wellness

With experience now at the forefront, hospitality is influencing all disciplines of design, especially when it comes to health and wellness. This powerhouse panel examines innovative ideas across healthcare, senior living, wellness retreats, and traditional spas that put the guest/patient centerstage.

Wednesday, April 27: Women in Design (presented by Shaw Hospitality)

A powerhouse panel of female leaders leans in to changing roles and expectations of women in design. Join the conversation on their career starts, their defining work, hurdles and setbacks, breakthroughs, plus mentorship for the next generation.

Also featured at HD Expo this year are the following:

HD Park, Booth #2873.—Inspired by the trend of outdoor tented camps and glamping resorts, HD Park is an indoor immersive experiment; a place to connect with clients and colleagues and attend the CEU accredited conference sessions led by industry veterans and rising stars.

The DesignWell Pavilion, Booth #4973.—The DesignWell Pavilion in the expo hall has proven to be magnetically popular for good reason: according to the Global Wellness Institute, wellness is a $4.5 trillion market. And thanks to COVID-19, health and wellness are more critical than ever to hospitality’s success and future. The pavilion will not only host conversations dedicated to wellbeing and sustainability, but also showcase a nature-inspired design by INC Architecture & Design.

HD Social Hub, Booth #5726. Relax, recharge, and reconnect at Hospitality Design magazine’s home base on the show floor. Crafted by the team behind 21C Museum Hotels, the HD Social Hub combines lounge and stage, featuring ample hangout space and various talks throughout the day.

HD Passport Cash Giveaway. Explore innovative products and collect stamps from participating vendors through the HD Passport and get the chance to win $10,000 during a live drawing on April 28. Must be present to win.

HD Connect. New for 2022 is the latest matchmaking experience at HD Expo. Using proprietary software, HD Connect allows exhibitors and attendees to schedule onsite meetings before they arrive and connect 1:1 on the show floor.
