SAN FRANCISCO—Smith & Fong Co. announced the company has launched a new range of sugar-palm plywood, wall paneling and flooring products. Joining the company’s line of Durapalm coconut palm plywood, flooring, veneers and panels, Smith & Fong’s new Deco palm products feature an almost three-dimensional appearance.

“The new Deco palm design is an assemblage of the full range of textures and rich colors inherent to this species of palm,” company founder and president Dan Smith said. “The Deco wall panel product is actually three-dimensional, as the surface is constructed of varying thicknesses of material. Our flooring and plywood sheet products retain this striking look, but are produced as a flat surface for ease of working and installation.”

Deco palm plywood and flooring products are formaldehyde-free. Deco wall panels, which are now low-emitting, will soon be available formaldehyde-free as well. Potential LEED credits include IEQ 4.3 and IEQ 4.4 and the products may also be applicable to some of the new credits for LEED 2012.

Deco palm flooring is available prefinished in random lengths with a width of 3” and thickness of 5/8”. Plywood is produced in ¾” x 36” x 96” sheets. Deco wall panels come in a 6” x 48” size with interlocking ends that allow for a seamless installation both vertically or horizontally.
