LOS ANGELES—Green Suites Hotel Solutions is set to launch their new website under the same URL. Streamlined for quicker navigation and an upmarket look, the website will allow hotels to buy online, in-stock products such as cruelty-free personal care products, and organic cotton and bamboo textiles shipped directly from the company’s warehouse.
Oftentimes hotel personal care products are geared toward quick fixes, but Green Suites Hotel Solutions steers hotels toward the products guests demand—holistic and natural, organic and healthy. The PAYA soap and lotion provided are formulated specifically for those needing alternatives which lack parabens, phthalates and mineral oil. It is understood how sensitive skin and...

New Honey Bee Suite at Renaissance Asheville Hotel
ASHEVILLE, N.C.—One year and two hives later, Renaissance Asheville Hotel’s urban beekeeping project is thriving.
In 2006, when honey bee colonies started disappearing, later dubbed “Colony Collapse Disorder,” beekeepers and non-beekeepers alike became very concerned. After all, one in every three bites of food we eat is courtesy of insect pollination. Equally important, 85 percent of flowering plants and trees rely on pollinators for the survival of their species. While less is known about native bees and other pollinators, we do know that entire species are disappearing at alarming rates as they battle most of the same enemies as honey...

Suppliers Step Up with Alternatives to the Plastic Toothbrush
NATIONAL REPORT—Each year, according to WooBamboo, billions of plastic toothbrushes end up in landfills or the oceans. Many of those toothbrushes originate in hotels—whether given to guests individually, in amenity packs, or sold in a retail shop. The plastic toothbrushes join the bottles, straws, stir sticks, utensils and other items that complicate the plastic waste problem currently getting worse around the planet. Fortunately for hoteliers, eco-friendlier alternatives to the plastic toothbrush are now available—at a higher price point than plastic, yes—but they are one more valuable way to convey your property’s concern for the environment.
No alternative to the plastic...
