MINNEAPOLIS—Room & Board for Business announces a significant expansion of its outdoor category, launching several new collections to meet the growing demand for design that isn’t just durable, but is intentional through its materiality, craftsmanship, and versatility. Ranging from lounge seating and accent tables to umbrellas and fire tables, the introductions prioritize sustainably sourced materials and responsible manufacturing while emphasizing flexible solutions for a wide range of environments.
“The broadened assortment enables us to deliver even more design choices to our customers, whether they are sourcing for high-end hospitality settings, workplace outdoor lounge areas, or spaces in between,” says Elise Nicpon, Director of Retail Customer Experience at Room & Board for Business. “From an expanded range of teak offerings to the introduction of all-weather wicker, we’re meeting growing demand with multifunctional new pieces designed to blend indoor comfort with outdoor environments.”
As part of this expansion, Room & Board for Business has forged a partnership with Indonesia-based Quality Works, a manufacturer known for producing long-lasting, exceptionally crafted teak furniture while prioritizing employee wellbeing and investing in the local community. It sources heartwood teak exclusively from forests owned by Perum Perhutani, an Indonesian government agency that meets Room & Board’s stringent sustainable wood sourcing policy through third-party certification. A natural hardwood, Indonesian teak heartwood is prized for its high oil content, which provides exceptional resistance to rot, insects, and the elements. Over time, it develops a silver-gray patina and remains easy to maintain.
Quality Works cuts and kiln-dries the teak and builds each piece of furniture at its factory. Any unused teak shavings are repurposed into kiln fuel, chicken bedding, or incense sticks for local places of worship. Passionate about its products as well as its people, Quality Works maintains a robust corporate social responsibility program with initiatives that empower craftspeople in surrounding communities, including specialized handcrafting training.
Lounge & Seating Introductions
New lounge and seating designs crafted by Quality Works and primarily composed of teak include the Leti, Timor, and Savu collections. Leti is defined by distinctive interlocking joinery that reinforces structural integrity and ensures long-term outdoor performance. Available as a sofa, lounge chair, swivel chair, and coordinating coffee tables, it offers a broad range of sizes and configuration options. Generous cushioning and relaxed proportions make it well-suited to pool decks, terraces, and resort-style hospitality environments where guests are encouraged to linger. The Timor Lounge Chair is designed with supportive angles and a lower seat height, creating a welcoming perch for extended relaxation—especially when paired with the matching Timor Ottoman. Meanwhile, the Savu dining chair features a distinctive slatted design that allows rainwater to drain easily, enhancing durability while maintaining a clean, architectural aesthetic.
Available as a sofa, lounge chair, or swivel chair, Madura is characterized by a charcoal-hued, all-weather wicker frame and high, firm seat. Skilled craftspeople from Quality Works hand-weave thick polyethylene cords over aluminum frames, using corrosion-resistant stainless-steel fasteners. These durable, low-maintenance materials provide the ideal foundation for Madura’s thick, comfortable cushions, inviting users to lounge outdoors for hours.
The Marin sofa and lounge chairs feature a deep, low-seat design focused on relaxed comfort. A lighter-weight steel frame emphasizes soft, refined lines, while armrests are accented with sustainably sourced reclaimed oak. Crafted by skilled makers in Wisconsin and North Carolina, the collection features thick rounded cushions that envelop the user.
Additional developments in the lounge and seating category include the expansion of the Rayo sofa into an efficient sectional collection spanning five different modular seating components; as well as additions to the Breeze, Emmet, Isley, Mattix, Montego, Oasis, and Westbrook lines.
Accent Pieces & Accessories
Complementing the new lounge and seating designs is an increased assortment of accessories and accent pieces—from umbrellas to fire tables. The Sumba fire table showcases a rich mix of materials that give it a distinctive look: slats of solid teak from Quality Works encircle a round ceramic top where drinks or snacks can be placed. The propane-powered unit is available in two sizes.
The Pele fire table features a modern bowl design and can be operated through a natural gas line or refillable propane tank. Built in the U.S., it is composed of fiberglass-reinforced concrete, which is lighter and more durable than traditional concrete and is perfect for the outdoors.

No outdoor environment is complete without options for shade. The new Banda umbrella collection by Quality Works is available in three configurations: the Banda Patio with a rounded canopy, rope pulley system, and twist-to-release safety lock ideal for round tables or lounge seating; the Banda Telescopic with an elegant telescoping design and crank handle perfect for shading large dining tables; and the Banda Cantilever, which provides expansive coverage with 360-degree rotation, center or off-center mounting options, and a substantial weighted base for added stability. The Banda patio can also be ordered with an integrated slotted teak side table that features an umbrella base enclosure.
Crafted in California from U.S. and imported materials, the new Pacifica collection features a concrete base wrapped in powder-coated aluminum with discreet hidden wheels for effortless mobility. A powder-coated stainless steel and aluminum frame provides exceptional strength, while a smooth rope pulley system allows for easy opening and closing. The Pacifica collection is available with a standard canopy and a keyhole valance, or notched valance to suit a variety of outdoor settings.
New Kitchen & Dining Options
The Granger outdoor kitchen islands and storage cabinets can now be ordered with a stone top in a range of finishes, from Marbled White Quartz to Mesabi Black Granite. The collection is also offered in two new sizes—48W and 76W—the latter available with or without an integrated refrigerator. Teak tabletops by Quality Works are now available for the bestselling Parsons table bases, and a new indoor-outdoor Marbled Beige (Dekton) top can be paired with Room & Board for Business’ round and rectangular top and base assortments.
New Colors & Fabrics
The expansion of the outdoor collection includes the introduction of Brick, a new HDPE color; Dusk, a new bouclé indoor and outdoor fabric in six colors and Engle, a new striped outdoor performance fabric in various colorways.
