ALEXANDRIA, VA.—Registration has opene for GBTA Academy’s Sustainable Travel Management course, which kicks off February 26. This comprehensive, five-week training will focus on the practical application of climate action and the management, reduction, and tracking of carbon emissions from business travel. Registration closes after February 19.

Many companies are making ambitious changes in their policies and practices to tackle their carbon emissions. The Sustainable Travel Management course will cover what that means in practice for corporate travel managers, buyers, and those who interact with managed travel programs (like suppliers, travel management companies, and consultants).

This online training course will help you to:

  • Align your sustainable travel program and efforts to the corporation’s ESG strategy and objectives.
  • Articulate the importance of a sustainable travel program to key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, travelers, and your travel partners.
  • Understand the ever-changing regulatory and disclosure landscape.
  • Implement global best practices, policies, and procedures to manage business travel emissions.
  • Explore the importance of engagement with suppliers in collecting and reporting data.
  • Track the sustainable travel program’s impacts and continually monitor the program for improvements.
  • Utilize the GBTA Foundation’s Sustainability Toolkit to advance sustainable travel practices and find needed resources.

The Sustainable Travel Management course is arranged into four modules, offering weekly video content, a variety of tools, templates, and resources; as well as live, on-camera discussion and peer-to-peer learning; and a group project to apply course learnings to real-world issues. Participants can expect up to two hours per week of coursework.
