CINNAMINSON, N.J.—Quickie Manufacturing Corp., the largest maker of cleaning tools in the United States and inventor of the Automatic Sponge Mop, has unveiled “Green and It’s Clean,” a line of eco-friendly cleaning tools. Made from recycled, natural and sustainable materials, these new “green” cleaning tools are designed to enhance cleaning while protecting the environment by reducing landfill and the need for harsh chemicals.

The “Green and It’s Clean” line of cleaning tools, which consists of stick goods like mops and brooms, and smallwares such as scrub brushes, utility and dish brushes, etc., is made in two distinct eco-friendly variations.

The Bamboo line of cleaning tools features mop handles and brush blocks that are created from natural bamboo, which is one of the world’s most sustainable materials. Coupled with the bamboo handles are mop heads made of natural cotton, or from microfiber, a material that cleans well without the need for chemicals. With scrub brushes, bamboo blocks are complemented by fibers made of Palmyra, which is a natural and very sustainable resource. The Recycled line of cleaning tools also features mops and brushes made from a resin formulation of RPET and ground wood chips. Recycled PET fibers are used to finish off the smallwares offering.

“In recent years, environmental awareness and the desire to protect our environment has become a top priority for all consumers,” said Vince Cella, chief marketing officer, Quickie Manufacturing Corp. “All of the products in the ‘Green and It’s Clean’ line are made from sustainable, natural and recycled materials, which yield rich looking products that are extremely functional; but also promote environmental stewardship.”

Complementing the eco-friendly cleaning tools, the “Green and It’s Clean” line features packaging that is made entirely from recycled paper, and even the product hang tags are secured using a natural jute twine material.

“Every aspect of this product line, from production to packaging, centers on natural and/or recycled processes and materials that are important to the environmental consciousness of consumers throughout the world,” Cella adds.
