NEW YORK, N.Y.—Momentum, the leading innovator of commercial textiles and wallcoverings, created an immersive “Wonderland” at BDNY 2025. Drawing inspiration from its floral Idyllwild pattern, the booth invited visitors into a space rich with color and nature. This playful and captivating Wonderland not only reflects key Momentum designs such as Idyllwild and partner brand B+N’s Iconic Panel system, but also taps into key market trends such as maximalism, biophilic motifs and practices, and immersive spaces.
Originally conceived as a textile, the Idyllwild pattern is now available as a wallcovering and has also been reimagined with additional motifs in Idyllwild Enchanted. Both designs anchor the BDNY booth and are part of Momentum’s Digital Art Gallery, a vast library of customizable, art-ready prints.
In both forms, the pattern aims to cultivate purpose-driven spaces that leave a lasting impact on future commercial hospitality interiors, fostering creativity, comfort, and meaningful connections between individuals and their environment. Idyllwild’s unique hand-drawn florals prove to be the protagonist in the textile, which blend real and imagined blossoms in a flowing, wide-repeat composition that brings a refreshing, lively energy to any space. The digital wallcovering Idyllwild Enchanted, on the other hand, adds to the whimsy of the floral pattern with its wonderland-theme motifs of rabbits, smiling cheshire cats, teacups and more.
“The Idyllwild pattern is rooted in our desire to spark a sense of joy and inspiration. It was designed to bring forth warmth and optimism and create an inviting and approachable atmosphere within a space,” explains designer Ellie Moser. “Idyllwild also exemplifies our company’s passion for crafting uplifting environments that foster a sense of purpose and belonging. For BDNY, I’m thrilled that Momentum was able to give the pattern a second life through our custom digital wallcovering capabilities, adding a playful new twist while staying true to the pattern’s vivacious spirit.”
The Empress Filigree and Hutton wallcoverings accompany the Idyllwild pattern in Momentum’s sensorial theme. Both prints feature natural toned hues encompassing ocean-toned blues and earthy browns, greys, greens that replicate lush forests and various flora. The nature-driven designs of both Empress Filigree and Hutton build on the immersive and creative aura Momentum brings forth within booth #719. The PVC-free Sardinia Cork wallcovering builds on the theme of nature by introducing texture and the unique metalized effect of natural surfaces to the booth. While mimicking nature, the metallic detailing adds a luxurious element to it that makes it perfect for an indoor hospitality setting. Earth-driven patterns continue to be a priority with Terra Leather in Burgundy and Seafoam, a textile that showcases a luxurious alternative to conventional faux leather, combining visual sophistication, performance, and impressive biodegradable attributes. Made with first-of-its-kind Hyphyn™ biodegradable vinyl, the textile offers exceptional longevity and durability, with the innovative ability to responsibly break down at end-of-life. The Wonderland FR textile in Magenta adds to the Idyllwild pattern’s vibrant colorways.
With Momentum’s recent acquisition of B+N Industries, the booth will also showcase B+N’s Iconic Panels. Crafted with a carved wood core and wrapped in durable formed laminate, the Iconic Panels bring a subtle and organic warmth to a space. Designed for aesthetic appeal, functionality, and lasting durability, the Iconic Panels embody both Momentum and B+N Industries’ goal in creating purpose-driven spaces that are made to inspire and motivate individuals.
“Our goal is to help designers and specifiers tell meaningful stories within spaces using our products,” explains Senior Hospitality Textile Designer, Lydia Lane. “This year’s booth immerses visitors in a world of wonder and whimsy, blending patterns, colors, and textures from multiple collections. It also offers a firsthand look at how these elements reflect the emerging trends shaping the future of hospitality design.”
